Marissa’s Bunny
Marissa’s Bunny
Basic blog business out of the way first- Marissa’s not doing so well. Her seizures have evolved into a single tonic event, followed by a bunch of myoclonic drops. Translated, this means “big, bad grunty seizure followed by a bunch of annoying ones that she’s lucid enough to complain about after each event.” We’re not sure what the next few days entail, and we’ve had discussions with various health professionals about IVIG, radical brain surgery, or gene therapy. None are particularly attractive candidates, but we’re at the long downfield hail Mary pass downfield for victory, or abject failure part of the treatment anyhow.
Heavy discussions will be had both here with the Wife and family, and also here on the blog with you lot fairly soon, I’m sure.
More is Better, Unless it’s Seizures
Earlier this week, the UPS guy dropped off a bag at the Marissahaüs. We had a few things on order, clothes, therapy goodies, etc, so I didn’t think about it right away. I had spoken with Crucial.com some time ago to sponsor Marissasbunny.com, and boy, did they come through.
I’m a tech head. I’m a cheap tech head, but I’m a tech head. RAM is easy to sleight on computers. Typically, as long as a computer runs, and has adequate performance, I’m pretty happy. In the bag was enough RAM to quadruple the capacity on my main work machine.
I knew RAM made some difference, and when I spec out a machine I have a certain quantity in mind for various tasks. Some for surfing machines, some x2 for gaming machines, some x2-4 for rendering machines. I wasn’t expecting a palpable difference in my main workstation above and beyond what I had installed for gaming. Big difference.
So, thanks to crucial.com, we’ve got a RAM giveaway. If you win this contest, Crucial.com will send you an upgrade for one of your computers, up to $250 in value!
Here’s how to enter. Choose one method, choose many. Some will only ever give you one entry, some can be done once per day. Only do what you’re comfortable with, and please be sure to complete all steps for your method!
